This is a short film, that was made to experiment with how to create still shot filming. Still shots are going to be used in the 'Sail away with me' music video, to act as the transition from one location to another. This film was created to test how effective the technique will be. To create the sequence the camcorder was set on record, and then paused after a second of time so that the fruit could be moved minutely. This sequence of pausing, recording, and moving the fruit was repeated until there had been enough footage captured to construct a sequence. Though the actual filming took around 40 minutes to complete, by the time the video had been edited for mistakes and compressed to triple speed, in order to give the shots a smoother quality the final footage only lasted for 30 seconds. This is a video of the final product:
On reflection, it appeared that it would be easier to use a still shot camera and then paste the individual shots into Premier elements, and set them a time frame rather that rely on being able to capture images using the camcorder, as in some shots shadows, and hands moving the fruit could be seen. Also halfway through the footage the camera slipped so that the angle jumped unexpectedly. This means that to save both editing and recording time and also to ensure that the footage is consistent and believable, the still shot sequence will be recorded using a digital camera rather than a camcorder.
